The Egyptians told their stories more carefully
than the cave people. The Egyptian writers
added the sound pictures. They used a picture
of an eagle for the sound A. They drew other
pictures for other sounds. We call those sound
pictures hieroglyphic. Hieroglyphic writing
was carved into stone with a sharp tool.
